Bengü Hilal ile ilgili bilgiler

Hello! I’m Bengü Hilal, a qualified and experienced Turkish teacher with 9 years of teaching experience, a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Turkish Language, and a Certificate in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language.

I have taught students from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds and work with learners at every level — from complete beginners with no prior knowledge of Turkish to advanced students and professionals studying Turkish language and linguistics at an academic level. I adapt my lessons to each student’s background, goals and learning needs.

My teaching approach places particular emphasis on grammar, phonetics and the structure of Turkish. Rather than simply asking students to memorise rules or phrases, I help them understand how the language works and why it is structured in a particular way. This is especially useful for students who want to develop a deeper understanding of Turkish and use the language accurately and confidently.

In addition to teaching, I have around 30 years of experience as a translator. I have a particular background in Christian theology and can also offer Turkish lessons for students, researchers or professionals who are interested in theological texts and Christian terminology in Turkish.

I also speak English fluently, so students can communicate with me comfortably in English whenever they need clarification or detailed explanations. My aim is to make Turkish clear, systematic and enjoyable, while helping each student reach their individual goals.

I use a communicative and student-centred approach, adapting each lesson to the learner’s level, goals and interests. My lessons combine speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar with practical, real-life Turkish. I create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and actively using the language. Whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate or advanced learner, I tailor the lessons to your needs, including everyday conversation, academic Turkish, exam preparation or professional communication. As a qualified and experienced Turkish teacher with a background in Turkish Language and Linguistics, I aim to make learning Turkish both effective and enjoyable.
