My name is Donia. I grew up in the vibrant city of Cairo and now I live in Istanbul—another lively, crowded place full of energy and stories. Having always lived in big, busy cities, one of my quiet dreams is to experience life in a small, peaceful town by the sea. I often wonder what it’s like to wake up to the sound of waves and not car horns.
I studied Turkish language and translation during my bachelor’s degree, and later continued with a master’s in teaching Turkish as a foreign language, specializing in vocabulary acquisition. Throughout my studies, I gave one-on-one online lessons in both Turkish and Egyptian Arabic to students from different parts of the world—mostly from the U.S. Teaching them brought so much meaning and joy to my life, and I’m truly grateful for the connections we built.
The hardest part of this journey has always been saying goodbye—when students reach their language goals and it’s time for them to move on. But those goodbyes are always full of pride.

Teaching Method & Techniques
I use a clear and systematic approach in my lessons. Most of the time, I follow the Yedi İklim Türkçe book, which is well-organized and designed for foreign learners. It builds up grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, and speaking step by step. I also prepare my own materials like conversation prompts, listening activities, and role-play exercises to help students practice real-life language.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson starts with a short warm-up or review of the previous topic. Then we move to a new lesson from the book or a topic I’ve prepared, depending on your needs. We cover listening, speaking, reading, and grammar in a balanced way. At the end of the lesson, I like to include a short speaking activity to help you use what you’ve learned.
What Sets Me Apart
I studied teaching at the master’s level and worked on learning strategies, so I always try to understand how you learn best. I’m patient, supportive, and I try to make each lesson practical and useful for your goals—whether you’re preparing for a job, a trip, or daily conversations.
Who My Lessons Are For
I teach students who have already finished the A1 level and want to improve their Turkish, especially in listening and speaking. I can also help learners of other levels if needed. My lessons are for anyone who wants to learn Turkish in a clear, step-by-step way, with guidance and motivation along the journey.
